The Finance Department
The Finance Department has the overall responsibility for all accounting and finance matters relating to the City. This responsibility is discharged in accordance with the federal and state regulations, the City Charter, Ordinances enacted by the City Commission, directives from the City Manager, and consistent with Governmental Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards as established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.
Municipal Energy Usage for Calendar Year 2018
The City of Mercedes purchased Natural Gas from Texas Gas Service. In calendar year 2018, the City of Mercedes purchased a total of 0.339 cubic meters (m3) of Natural Gas.
The City of Mercedes purchased electricity from GEXA Energy and Magic Valley. In the calendar year 2018, the City purchased a total of 6,345,799 Kilowatt Hours.
The City of Mercedes purchased water from the City of Mercedes and Hidalgo & Cameron County Irrigation District. In calendar year 2018, the City purchased a total of 10,831,690 gallons of water.
