Patrols

The Patrol Division provides police services within the incorporated city limits of Mercedes. The city is separated into four sectors. Patrol officers focus closely on issues relevant to our community and the specific geographic areas they are assigned to.

We work in cooperation with community members and are proactive in our approach to resolving crime concerns and quality of life issues facing our community.

Our organization is active with our neighborhoods and encourages a partnership with the community. We seek to provide solutions to the challenges our rapidly growing community experiences. It is our commitment to provide high quality police services and continue the approach to reducing crime which makes Mercedes one of the safest cities in America.

The City of Mercedes has been growing continuously over the last few years and so has the Police Department. The city limits continue to expand and the Patrol Division covers a geographical area that spans from Mile 3 East to FM 1015 and from Mile 10 North to Del Rio Road. Currently, the Patrol Division is under the command of Lieutenant Jose C. Macias.
