Envision Mercedes 2025: A Community Comprehensive Plan

The City of Mercedes approved a Major Comprehensive Plan update in 2010. In 2006, the City of Mercedes, City Commission appointed a community blue ribbon panel to work with City staff in the development of a new City Plan to address all aspects of the City’s development. The document was developed by the Committee and members of the community who attended a series of public hearings designed to determine what is most important to Mercedes’ residents.

Envision Mercedes 2035 Vision Statement:

Mercedes endeavors to be a historic, culturally rich, proactive community where citizens live, learn, work, and recreate in a healthy and safe environment. It embraces diversity in its visitors, welcomes international commerce, and seeks progressive opportunities to promote its richness.
