Utilities Division

The Utilities Department is committed to providing essential distribution and collection services to the entire community in a safe, efficient, and with the best quality. This Division is in charge of overseeing the maintenance, repair, and construction of our water distribution system and our wastewater collection system.

Additionally; Utilities Division also ensures that our municipal separate stormwater system (MS4) is upkept and free of debris in order to secure the proper flow of stormwater runoff and mitigate flooding in the City of Mercedes. The Division works closely with our Operation & Maintenance Contractor at the Water and Wastewater Treatment plans.

Moreover; the Utilities Supervisor is required to inspect and provide comments on new City Subdivisions and other projects, in order for them to meet the quality standards that the City of Mercedes deserves.
