Outdoor Sales Permits

Outdoor Sales Permits

Outdoor sales are intended to be temporary in nature and may only take place at commercially licensed and permitted business locations by permitted peddlers. A commercial establishment must give the vendor permission to have their sale for a period not to exceed one day (two if it falls on a weekend) and may only permit up to four sales per year from their business. The vendor must fill out the application and pay for the permit at the City after a verification is made of the zoning, number of previous annual sales and permission by property owner. The sales may only be conducted between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. The charge for such permits shall be $30 for each instance and must be paid at the time the permit is obtained. All Outdoor Sales activities permitted must have their approved permit available for inspection during the sale at all times.

Yard sales fall under Outdoor Sales, but are allowable within residential areas on the premises where the owner lives. These sales are also limited to no more than six sales per address with sales not exceeding four consecutive calendar days and a minimum of five days separating two sales. There will be a $5.00 charge for yard sale permits, but if one is not obtained prior to the yard sale, owner may forfeit their ability to have any more yard sales at that location for the year.
